Severe trauma to the face, oral abscesses, and excessive bleeding all qualify as dental emergencies. At Concord Dental Associates in Concord, NH, we’re fully prepared to accommodate you and deal with your emergency. Our office is well-equipped, and our dentists have the right training to take good care of you.
Dental emergencies can be terrifying, but we need you to stay calm and follow our instructions. There are a few things that you can do until you get to our office to make things better. The important thing is to seek help as soon as possible. Delaying treatment in dental emergencies can have consequences.
At Concord Dental Associates, we recommend that our patients follow a few first aid measures until they can reach our office. For those who are experiencing bleeding, compression is essential. Firmly compress the affected area to slow down the bleeding.
Patients who experienced trauma to the face might have loose or knocked-out teeth. Try to keep the loose or knocked-out tooth in its socket. Place a piece of cotton under/over it and firmly bite it. Be very careful not to swallow the tooth or any broken fragments. If keeping it in your mouth isn’t possible, there’s a simple alternative. You can place the knocked-out tooth in a clean container and cover it with milk or saliva. We might be able to salvage it.
Give us a call, and we’ll do our best to see you. We do our best to leave room in the schedule to accommodate dental emergencies. These situations can’t be predicted and are impossible to plan for by the patient. Having a place where you can go that’ll take care of you immediately can make a huge difference.
Even if there’s not enough room in the day’s schedule, we’ll try and shift things around to see you. Get in touch with us to make sure that the office is open. If we’re not working or available, our staff will give you advice and direct you to the nearest place where you can get help.
